Meet the Candidates Forum
Saturday, November 4, 2006
One Delta Place
(Immediately following chapter meeting)
1:15PM - 2:45PM

Join us as we present Candidates running for various city and county offices.

This event is being coordinated by MDA's Social Action Committee, along with its sub committee Political Action and Awareness whose charge is to address issues that affect the public well-being. The mission of social action in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is to promote leadership, advocacy, and empowerment to effect social change and public policy. MDA has been established in the south Dallas area since 1985. We believe that it is imperative for voters to have an accurate understanding of the position of each candidate running for an office. As a community based organization, we deem it as our responsibility to raise awareness and facilitate discussions considered important.

As a tax-exempt organization, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is prohibited from participating in partisan political activities. However, the sorority is allowed to support issues and is thus permitted to participate in issue advocacy.

The purpose of this forum is to introduce you as a candidate for the upcoming election, share with us your political agenda if warranted, and inform others as to why you should receive our vote in the November 7th election.

We sincerely hope you will join us in our political and social action education endeavor.
